Noel Johnson (NDJ) – Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride | Trippy Joy

Noel Johnson (NDJ), the Americana artist from Birmingham, Alabama has an eclectic new track titled Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride. In this classic retro rock meets synth and electro music song, we get a treat to enjoy and groove to. NDJ was the frontman for the alt-Americana/indie rock band The White Oaks. As a solo artist since 2020, he has had a stunning string of releases.

Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride commences with pleasant tones, a pocket groove, and aural joy. There is some emotive lyricism which when combined with the bass baritone vocals by Noel Johnson (NDJ), creates something truly unique in feel and texture. As time passes, age catches up with idealism and cynicism becomes the norm. Coming to terms with time and reality. Fears are all about life and the maturity that comes with it.

He uses the chaos and pain of life to create something lovely. He entertains people with his music without being shallow or materialistic and finds a way to translate the profound mystery of life into ear-pleasing melodies. The song is for anyone with drug experiences or an interest in altered states.

Noel Johnson (NDJ) manages to create a sonic landscape that will compel the listener. With a murky mood and enticing feel, the song draws you into its story. NDJ’s personal experiences with Ayahuasca and Hunter S. Thompson’s “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” served as inspiration for Buy the Ticket, Take the Ride. Noel lists Leonard Cohen, Nina Simone, Tame Impala, and Post Malone as his influences. This is one track one must not miss!
