The world’s biggest metal fest just dropped its first 34 names for 2025, and with giants like Gojira, Papa Roach, and Dimmu Borgir, Wacken is already looking unmissable.
Wacken Open Air festival organizers have announced the first set of confirmed acts for 2025. The event is all set to take place from July 30th to August 2 at Wacken, a village near the town of Itzehoe in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany with a population of around 2000 people only. The first list of bands for the 34th edition of the festival consists of 34 metal acts including Within Temptation, Machine Head, Papa Roach and Gojira. Last year, the Wacken Open Air festival sold 85,000 tickets.

Tickets for one of the largest heavy metal festivals: Wacken Open Air festival are now out!
The 2024 edition of the event was headlined by the hard rock giants from Germany, The Scorpions. The first edition of the event, Wacken Open Air 1990 drew less than 800 people with all German acts. However, the event kept growing and now it is one of the largest heavy metal festivals in the world, with more and more fans travelling from other parts of the world.

No edition of the event took place during 2020-21 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Usually, the event organizers do not announce the names of the performing acts before tickets go on sale like they did this time. However, the tickets are still sold out within hours normally. No VIP access or upgrades are available and fans neither have a single-day ticket option as well, something the organizers stopped doing since a long time.
