Jane’s Addiction go on Hiatus Stating Frontman Perry Farrell’s ‘mental health difficulties’

Los Angeles rockers Jane’s Addiction have decided to go on a hiatus just two months after they had returned with their original line-up. The decision follows an onstage argument during their performance last Friday night at Boston where front man Perry Farrell seemed to confront guitarist Dave Navarro, as we can see from a now-viral video.

The band recently announced their decision on Instagram. This came along with the news that they are cancelling the remaining part of the reunited rock legend’s 2024 North American Tour tour and returning the already booked tickets.

“To all the fans. The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group. As such, they will be cancelling the remainder of the tour. Refunds for the cancelled dates will be issued at your point of purchase – or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct. Thank you, Jane’s Addiction,” the post reads.

Whereas Dave Navarro along with drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery have signed their own statement. They write that, “Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current U.S. tour.”

Perry’s band mates have also stated their concern for his mental health and safety, wishing he finds all the help he needs. They also apologized to the fans whom they had to return the tickets to. The statement said they regretted not being able to provide an onstage environment safe enough to deliver a great performance.
