New Megadeth guitarist Teemu Mantysaari talked about the work process on the band’s next album release planned for next year.
Although initially introduced as a fill-in for Kiko Loureiro, Mantysaari confirmed that he has been an “official member” since November last year during a conversation with John The Metal Mailman. Mantysaari talked about his life after joining Megadeth, his favorite experiences with the band. The guitarist went on talking about the recording process furthermore.

“Right now everybody’s gathering their own riff ideas, and then, at some point, we’re gonna put them together and probably record in Nashville. And the plan is to get the next album done next year,” Mantysaari said. “I have got a bunch of stuff. What I do is… I just pick up the guitar, I usually improvise and come up with ideas and then I record it on my phone…. and I leave it there…” went on Matysaari. “When I look back at it then that maybe inspires me to look at the riff from a different perspective, and maybe I get another idea from that, and then I record it down on my computer…,” Mantysaari explained the whole writing process in the interview.

He explained that Dave Mustaine often likes to build his songs around the riffs the members bring in. Which means they don’t necessarily have to write the whole song but they just can create riffs first. Next they listen to them to see which ones go well and then put them together to form the song.
Although we don’t know exactly when but Megadeth is expected to start the recording process soon by this year. Mantysaari’s excitement on the “bunch of stuff” planned for it seems like the new tracks are going to be something!
