Genre-Blending Sonic Adventure: WIESINGER’s Album “Say The Quiet Thing Out Loud!”

About the Artist

Canada-based band WIESINGER creates an infectious blend of indie pop and alternative rock. Formed in 2022, the group is led by Justin Wiesinger, who along with his wife Chelsey, often performs with Daniel and Bethany Ann of Sauvage Plain. Additionally, their music combines elements of pop, rock, dance, and hip-hop into upbeat, family-friendly songs, drawing influence from Barenaked Ladies, Smash Mouth, and AJR.

Since their debut, WIESINGER has earned more than half a million Spotify streams with their sophomore album Stuck in Your Head and gained momentum as the opening act for Eric Kane’s 2024 Western Canada “Water My Soul” Tour. Furthermore, their vibrant creativity shines in their most recent album Say the Quiet Thing Out Loud! released September 2, 2025.

The Album

Say the Quiet Thing Out Loud! spans 12 tracks, including Onomatopeia (feat. Chu the Producer), Analogical, Pre-Save My Song, Fear/Less (feat. Stephanie Hayden), Devil in a Mirror (feat. Stephanie Hayden), NPC (feat. Chu the Producer), I’m Just a Kid, Party Bus Song, TAXES, Doom Scroller, Dear Trauma, and Outro – Instrumental. Altogether, the record offers a vibrant, high-energy mix of catchy hooks and playful storytelling. It highlights the band’s use of dynamic collaborations and genre-blending production for a distinctive pop-rock sound.

Onomatopeia (feat. Chu the Producer) opens the album with a powerful bass and layered electronic and acoustic sounds. Its catchy drop, paired with the lyrics “Fun is my addiction,” immediately sets a fun, danceable mood. Next, in contrast, Analogical delivers a more introspective, cynical tone: “If leaders break the laws, they’ll change em.” Its steady tempo and layered instrumentation create a textured sound, while the music video, directed by Justin Wiesinger, enhances the song’s vision.

Then, Pre-Save My Song catches you with punchy drums, vibrant basslines, and bright synths, perfectly matching playful lyrics like “Please save my song, pretend that you listen to all of my songs.” After, Fear/Less (feat. Stephanie Hayden) delivers a disco-inspired beat and uplifting lyrics like “You’ve got to start to fear less.” Devil in a Mirror introduces an emotional depth, where haunting vocals and atmospheric instrumentation create a reflective pause. Simultaneously, NPC (feat. Chu the Producer) experiments with heavy electronic textures and shifting tempos, keeping the momentum fresh and the album unpredictable.

In an unexpected turn, I’m Just a Kid opens with a playful rap by actual children in an uplifting and fun tone, which Party Bus Song continues with more energetic drum patterns and a very teen “cool kids” vibe. Next, TAXES humorously critiques adult responsibilities, while Doom Scroller explores technology-driven modern life with layered synths and brisk pacing. Subsequently, Dear Trauma is emotionally charged, with raw lyrics and a powerful arrangement that stops you in your tracks.

Finally, the album concludes with Outro – Instrumental that encapsulates the themes and motifs explored throughout the record, providing a sense of closure and allowing the listener to reflect on the journey the album has taken them on.
