Michel Yang Strips Back the Ego on EP “egoff.”

About the Artist

Michel Yang, a South Korean-born, Paraguay-raised artist and producer combines melodic hip-hop with a strong jazz foundation. His sound draws from both instinct and training, shaping tracks that feel loose but intentional.

Now, his 6-track EP egoff., released April 2, 2026, sits in that space of self-reflection, working through ego, pressure, and the slow process of figuring yourself out, with each track also paired with visualizers on his YouTube channel that extend its mood.

The EP

noself opens the EP and immediately sets the vibe. It feels half drunk, the Korean rap sitting on the beat in a way that sounds slightly distorted, like it’s dissolving as you listen. Then, home comes in, rapped in English, “Can you help me find me,” and that line sits at the center. It’s identity reaching for itself, trying to come back to something stable.

Next, wishes almost passes as a club track at first, but midway it shifts. You catch what it’s actually saying, and it makes you pause. Meanwhile, take it to the brain leans more electronic, almost videogame-like, but not in a playful way. It feels like moving through your own mind, old memories and habits lighting up one after another, shaping what you do without you noticing.

After that, fck feels like the kind of track that forces you to look at things directly, asking questions that don’t really have new answers. Then, honesty follows closely, carrying a similar pulse but turning it inward. It sits in that restless state, wanting to disconnect but not fully knowing how.

Finally, egoff. circles that idea of turning the ego off, not in some big, dramatic way, but by sitting with the parts of yourself you usually avoid. It feels like peeling layers without knowing what’s underneath yet, staying there, letting it settle, and seeing what still remains when there’s nothing left to perform.
