The metal band Blood and Bones from Münster, Germany, released their single Cost of Greed on July 13, 2025. The track confronts the machinery of war and those who profit from it. It is a blend of melodic metalcore, post-hardcore, and blackened metal, creating a sound that is both aggressive and immersive.
Furthermore, the band sets itself apart with Alice Luna Smith, their AI-generated frontwoman. Her voice moves seamlessly between raw vulnerability and precise clarity, giving Blood and Bones a unique personality in today’s metal scene.

As soon as the vocal fry cuts in, the song sketches an entire riot in your head — a stage shaking under boots, sweat flying, lights strobing blood-red and white. Crowds packed shoulder to shoulder, head-banging-screaming, “POWER, GREED AND CONTROL!”
The drums, the ribs rattling bass and with every brutal “RISE UP!” the air feels like it’s going to split open.

Midway, the tone shifts sharply as the rage gives way to a fragile melody. The lyrics “Media spins, divides, and deceives. Sells us nightmares disguised as beliefs. Generals grin, contractors thrive. While villages starve, barely alive” — aren’t delivered with the guttural fry that dominates much of the track. Instead, Alice Luna Smith sings in a human register, turning each word into a quiet accusation.
By the time the last scream rips through, “Make them bleed!” chants boils up from the crowd, and the song crashes into you like a wall of fury. And when the smoke clears, you know one thing for sure: nobody walks out of that room unchanged.
