Welsh Indie Band Releases new LP in 7 Years Along With A Deluxe Version

Last week, seven-piece Welsh Indie pop group Los Campesinos! released “All Hell” – their first LP in the last 7 years. Their last album Sick Scenes was released in 2017. Along with the news of their much awaited return also came the news of the band launching a deluxe version of the album available till last Thursday. Fans had a very short time to purchase the deluxe version which was not available for streaming anywhere – not even Bandcamp.

Fans who got the deluxe version got to listen to reworked versions of five album tracks. It also included a version of
“Wait”. The 1995 song was originally released by Karate side project the Secret Stars. Death Cab for Cutie covered the song in their 1997 demo “You Can Play These Songs With Three Chords”.

Los Campesinos! released a newsletter this May 14th announcing the release date (July 19th). Although guitarist Rob Taylor had announced last December that they were working on a new album. Finally around 2 months back they released the first single from the album called “Feast of Tongues”. This intense teaser track talks about the only lovers left feasting on “the tongues of the last bootlickers”. A couple of days later Los Campesinos! released the second single “A Psychic Wound”. The rebellious soundscape sounds like angst, a breakdown, talking of a view from the “belly of the beast” and being “tied to the pulse of the sea”, the exact words the song starts with.

“All Hell” has received good reviews from critics, many calling it their best work. Self funded, self produced and self released, the album is a ticket to your adolescent emo phase.
