Fans found a ticket link to Opeth’s India concert which was put down after a while. Is the band finally coming to India after 7 years? Frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt had talked about an India visit in his last interview, so if we follow the hints, maybe it is finally happening!
Swedish prog metal band Opeth is coming back to India after 7 long years, if we are to believe speculations.
What further hints at this is a Skillbox ticket link that appeared for what seems like a minute, and then disappeared. A reddit thread confirms that fans can’t find it anymore.
“The last WILL and TESTAMENT” India tour 2026 dates are likely to be October 3rd (Mumbai) and October 4th (Bangalore) – 2 dates back to back!

Reddit has already seen the Indian Metalheads community speculating on the matter for the last 5 months.
“We show up once in every 5 years.,..I will push for it the next year!”– Mikael Åkerfeldt on Opeth visiting India.
Last year, in Sinusoidal Music’s exclusive interview with Opeth frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt, he mentioned their plan to visit India. “We were planning to come this year, but it’s looking like…next year, maybe?” Mikael went on, “You have to take in so many things into consideration…like, ‘Can we afford it? Where are we playing? What’s the state of the world?'”
Mikael had further stated that they have been to India as many as 4 times, and it is still one of the band’s favourite countries to play in. “We show up once in every 5 years,” said the Opeth frontman, hinting at a couple of shows soon, just as the suspicious link had mentioned. “Actually, I am the one who’s gonna push for it the next year!”
As per Opeth’s official website, the band will be busy touring Europe from mid-June to August and then again from November. While no information is up yet for October, fans are hopeful that the India visit is likely to happen. Check out the full list of tour dates and confirmed locations here!
The tour is named after their last studio album The Last Will And Testament released in 2014. The album is a concept record marking their death growls comeback, along with a WW1 era dark storyline, including collaborations with Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull).
