An ultra compact digital version of any amp, drive pedal or a cabinet or a blend of all of them – with Neural DSP’s signature ‘Neural Capture” technology. Checkout the Nano Cortex!
Neural DSP recently introduced the Nano Cortex – an ultra-compact pedal for guitarists and bassists combining amp and cabinet features with a collection of built in effects. Weighing in at just 620 grams, the Nano Cortex uses the same technology as the Quad Cortex but this time in a much more compact size. The unit allows users to create a digital version of any amp, drive pedal or cabinet or a blend of all of them.
The Nano Cortex ships with 25 Neural Captures including ,Marshall Silver Jubilee, Peavey 5150, Mesa/Boogie JP2C, Fender Princeton 65, Diezel VH4 and an Ampeg SVT Classic, with an option to download thousands more!
With the “Neural Capture”, you can connect your equipment to the device and press the capture button. In about 5 minutes, the device will come up with a digital version of your gear! You can save the capture and use it in your device’s virtual signal chain, as well as share it online with others.
There is Noise Gate, Transpose, Neural Capture, as well as an IR loader. Post effects include a Boss DC-2W-style Chorus, a vintage-inspired Delay, as well as a Mind Hall Reverb processor. The unit can also function as a full fledged Audio Interface with a 24 bit 48 hertz sound quality.

Furthermore the device comes with some highly customizable cabinet simulation features. It comes with as many as 10 Impulse Response (IR) files already pre-installed along with a IR loader. For each IR we can choose from 5 mic model options and 6 positions. 256 spaces have been kept empty for user-imported IR files.
For Gapless Preset switching, the unit offers a fixed signal path with a variety of options. There is Noise Gate, Transpose, Neural Capture, as well as an IR loader. “Bringing the same ground-breaking sound capture technology into an incredibly compact design at an affordable price point.”
“Since we first unveiled the Quad Cortex and Neural Capture in 2020, our mission has been to push the boundaries of what’s possible in music technology. The Nano Cortex is the latest evolution in that journey, bringing the same ground-breaking sound capture technology into an incredibly compact design at an affordable price point. This development is a glimpse into the future of music processing, where sophisticated digital tools are designed to be as intuitive and portable as they are powerful, making best-in-class technology accessible to a broader community of musicians,” says Douglas Castro, CEO, Neural DSP Technologies.
The Nano Cortex is extremely versatile as well. For practicing at home you can just plug in your headphones or you can directly plug it in into your PA or into your FRFR cab for a full range sound. It can also fit in effortlessly into your pedalboard.
