Waft away into a dream, with “Part Time Love” by John Taglieri

There are just some of those songs that seem to transport you to another realm altogether– be it with soaring, heart-rending lyrics, or with angelic, otherworldly instrumentation, grandiose displays of technical skills; John Taglieri has seemingly mastered this art, releasing fourteen albums on his own terms. As the song starts with a gentle piano riff and all the instruments are slowly introduced, there is a tinge of the koto, making headway for the relaxing acoustic guitars, all glued together by the uptempo drums. There is passion in the melody, gentle power in the instrumentation, and cohesion in the mix, as the clean electric guitar riff with its wafty reverbs and delays do the job of taking you to another realm altogether.

With so many elements, it becomes crucial that the mix be held together well, and I am glad to report that this is an excellent effort. The depth in the layers formed by the instruments is excellently captured, which gave me endless ear candy every time I decided to look in a different part of the mix. The vocals, too, play perfect support as over the course of the song, I caught myself humming and harmonizing– truly, a mark of great songwriting.

With “Part Time Love”, John Taglieri brings to the table a certified bop in the most interesting of ways, and I am a sucker. Check out “Part Time Love” by John Taglieri here!
