The mysterious woman from Black Sabbath’s debut album cover, Louisa Livingstone, has released an AI-assisted psychedelic rock opera.
Any Black Sabbath fan will recognize the iconic woman who appeared on the album cover of the band’s 1970 eponymous debut album. The woman whose ghostly silhouette became one of rock’s most recognizable images is Louisa Livingstone, and now she has returned to music with a new venture.
The Woman Behind the Iconic Cover Is Back
Livingstone, who was finally identified as the model on the album cover in 2020 after nearly five decades of mystery, now makes music under the name Indreba, short for Incredible Dream Band. Earlier this year, she revisited her unexpected place in metal history with two songs, Witch Woman and The Woman By The Mill. The tracks paid homage to both the cover and the Oxfordshire location where the famous photograph was taken.
From Black Sabbath to a Full-Length EP
Livingstone has released Alice, an AI-assisted five-track EP inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland books. It is a psychedelic rock opera following Alice as she navigates the very real chaos of the 2026 internet and AI landscape.
The songs play out as one continuous story, with Livingstone using multiple musical styles and lyrics to take listeners on a journey through what she calls a “rollercoaster” of a trip.
AI also plays a major role in the project. Livingstone admits she was once skeptical of the technology but now sees it as another creative tool. For her, the result depends on how that tool is used.
A New Spin on Jefferson Airplane’s “White Rabbit”
The EP opens with “Feed Your Head,” which takes inspiration from Jefferson Airplane’s psychedelic classic “White Rabbit,” which in itself is rooted in Alice in Wonderland imagery.
Livingstone has given it a 2026 revamp, swapping psychedelic-era references for a commentary on modern internet addiction. One lyric even jokes about a pill that makes you scroll for hours, while another sends Alice chasing white rabbits through “the algorithms” of her mind.
Livingstone has come a long way from a mysterious figure standing beside a mill to an AI-assisted trip down the internet rabbit hole. Her latest venture certainly proves that.
