Tiny Enemy Lets Silence Roar on “Wrath of Me”

Tiny Enemy is the indie and alternative rock project of Irish musician Justin Grant, based in Belfast and originally from Newry, County Down. His latest single, Wrath of Me, leads into the upcoming album Into The Real World. The track blends sharp guitar riffs, driving rhythms, and a raw energy. Belfast musician Cregan Black also recorded and performed on the release.

Wrath of Me opens in a mixture of elements that almost throws you off at first but it is such a clever way to build an atmosphere. It slowly builds this atmosphere that genuinely feels like standing alone in the middle of a forest clearing. The entire soundscape feels damp, and restless.

Lyrically, “Silence speaks so loud it roars” becomes the line that holds the entire track together. The song treats silence less like peace and more like something overwhelming, where unspoken thoughts grow so loud they start swallowing everything else. The line, “we will never grow up, we will never show up,” sounds like someone trying to avoid life altogether, refusing to face the weight sitting inside them.

Wrath of Me feels connected to anger, sadness, and worry without directly saying any of it. It makes me imagine someone wandering through fog, trying to outrun themselves, only to realize the thing following them has been inside them the entire time.
