Soft alt-pop comes alive in ‘Only Love’ by Mark Moule

Mark Moule is an indie alt-pop, rock singer and songwriter who is known for his emotive musicality and stripped-back songwriting that focuses more on raw, organic portrayal instead of exaggerated studio polish. With a reflective, poignant approach to music, his art is slowly garnering love from listeners around the world for its honest take on the state of humankind and its liberating spirit.

Recently, Mark Moule released an EP called ‘Only Love’, a laid-back, four-track EP that features some stunning indie rock numbers. Focusing on the relaxed, contemplative mood and lyrical honesty, the EP takes you through an intense journey that offers catharsis in its truest form. Each track highlights what it feels like to love and be in love, through various viewpoints, oscillating between the extremes, and finding a haven amidst chaos. Highlighting themes like the pain of difficult relationships, existentialism, and emotional fatigue. Navigating the different facets of love, the tracks pull you in and grab your attention in a way that you will feel like coming back to Moule’s masterpieces again and again. The EP opener ‘Coming Down’ navigates the quiet tension and restlessness that follows after emotional highs in relationships. The layered guitars really make you feel as if you are living the chaos and bewilderment of the situation in real time. What lingers is Moule’s breathtaking vocals that sweep you off your feet with their tender might. His nuanced vocals add to the emotional palpability in a way that’s simply beautiful.

Another track, ‘Only Love’, hits you like a storm with its meditative brilliance. The gentle ascension really makes you feel as if you’re the main character, with a laid-back, cinematic appeal that uplifts the senses almost instantly.

While the other tracks focus on inner emotional turmoil, the track ‘Where’s the Money Gone’ brings the tension outward, with its bold reflection on the economic fragility and social frustration of our times. The closing track, ‘Killer’, almost seals the deal with its heavy catharsis. This one is psychologically complex and emotionally dark, but what it leaves you with is an extraordinary, almost unexplainable satisfaction that any good art makes you feel.

The EP displays a commendable emotional, psychological, and artistic depth that stays with you long after you’re done listening to the tracks.
