Houston artist David McKnight, also known as David Mc’ Knight or D, returns with his latest rock single, Love, released on April 30, 2026. Pulling influence from artists across hip-hop, rock, and alternative music, McKnight blends melodic production with emotionally direct songwriting. He co-produced the track alongside Prod drac, continuing his smooth and energetic sound.

Love opens intensely from the very first line, “you stay on my mind… love love love you,” and the song never hides behind metaphors or indirectness. It speaks clearly and openly about wanting someone, letting every feeling spill. The track sounds like something you’d hear being busked in the middle of a crowded market square, with people slowing down as the sound cuts through all the noise around them.
Meanwhile, the percussion and guitars stay steady throughout, carrying that familiar rock band sound that feels immediate and easy to fall into. The melody stays simple in the best way, and the refrain settles into your head almost instantly. It’s the kind of song you hear once on the radio and then catch yourself humming days later without realizing it. The beat keeps this stable pulse that naturally pulls your head into nodding along with it.

Finally, even though Love runs just under three minutes, it feels full and concentrated. It sounds like the kind of song you’d play loudly through speakers during a summer evening with friends sitting around outside, while you replay somebody’s face in your head the entire evening.

Figuring out my path while actively plotting ten others. Serious about my dreams with somewhat chaotic ambition. Will do anything for cats.
