GAZ have returned to the fore after 4 years. After their exciting album Watergazed, GAZ bring about their signature retro rock sound and rhythms to us with their latest track, Happy Girl. As expected, it is a trip to a muddy tone, infectious rhythms and resounding lyrics.
Just the intro should have you moving. With riff based attack, this mellow track has its energetic moments all planned out. The bluesy expedition is one you’ll enjoy till you loop this track, having stand out elements and some tasty flourishes spread out. GAZ leave no stone left unturned with something the radio charts should be happy to have as a frontrunner. It is a sway away from the kind of sound that was on their album, and consequent singles from 2018. Hear more of their old school revival magic with tracks like Got to Roll It. If someone knows how to personify attitude, it’s GAZ.
Watergazed has some really well composed numbers, with the live instruments creating their own natural stream of sound. The mastering and mixing of the sound is apparent, there is a crisp, clarified reality to the sound we hear now.
