Chasing Tales is a Hamburg-based artist and songwriter. He uses his flair for mixing genres to create a unique sound that bends genres. Having taken a year-long break from music, Chasing Tales has since quit his job in advertising to focus all his energy on music. With a pretty decently sized audience, he is slowly, but surely making his way up the music ladder.
Burn This City is a unique track. Mostly because it takes the best of Melancholia, Indie, Rock, Folk and Electronica and creates a brilliant space for the listener. The drums and bass line keep the rhythm groovy and has this Poets Of The Fall vibe. The little drum fills here and there catch you by surprise, but in the best way possible. The guitar acts as a really great countermelody to the vocals. The guitar has its own path that results in a great train of thought within the track. The vocals go through their own journey that helps guide the song through the various genres. Burn This City has a strong and confident vibe that just cuts through the track and goes deep into the listener’s emotions.
I can tell you that the various avenues that Chasing Tales explores really shows in his music. I’d be lying if I told you that his production value wasn’t as great as it is. The mix sits so perfectly, giving you time to appreciate every element in the track. With that said, it would probably do you better to actually listen to the track.
