Neural DSP has finally confirmed that the long awaited guitar plugin compatibility for the flagship amp modeler Quad Cortex will be out this July 31st. Users upgrading their operating system to the CorOS 3.0.0 will get receive a free plugin as per their choice from the catalogue.
This means Quad Cortex users will now enjoy the massive upgrade. They can work with a digital electric guitar tone ecosystem built on a hardware device and their own plugin library. Once the players download the guitar plugins, they can mix and match virtual devices from Archetype plugin suites with devices already there on their unit. This is something the Quad Cortex platform has always delivered.
Unveiling Archetype: Plini X and Archetype: Gojira X
Archetype: Plini X and Archetype: Gojira X – These are the first two plugins which will be available for download. Neural DSP’s collaboration with these two guitarists has no doubt been a fruitful one. While Plini’s plugin gives a versatile tone update, players will get all of Joe Duplantier’s signature metal guitar tones which defines Gojira’s heavy sound. And from what it looks like in the Overview, the plugins seem to seamlessly work with the already existing presets.
Players will also get to use a virtual guitar amp from the Gojira plugin and a cabinet from Plini’s and also add dealy and reverb on top – no wonder the presets are gonna get more interesting!

For Quad Cortex fans this has been a prolonged wait and naturally they are all excited and might update right away but Neural DSP still advices them to make a backup before initiating the update process. Out of the free plugins, players can choose any plugin, not only the Quad Cortex-compatible X plugins. But from previous updates we can assume, like them, these two will eventually be available as a free upgrade through X plugins as well.
