AR Rahman Hosts J-Pop Icons JO1: Collab Releasing Soon?

AR Rahman and JO1 in one song? Fans are all excited as Rahman takes to Instagram to drop a hint on an Indo-Japanese synergy!

Indian music maestro AR Rahman recently hosted J-Pop group JO1 at his Mumbai studio. What’s more interesting is that Rahman chose to share this publicly, something that isn’t usual for him. Is this a hint at an upcoming collab? Wonder fans.

This visit, which marks Mame and Shoshei‘s first visit to India, has left fans wondering when they will get to hear their favorite stars together.

Rahman’s unique soundscape, coming together with JO1’s pop sound, has kept fans waiting. And Rahman dropping hints before the release only makes it more exciting, since he exclusively does that for really special releases.

On their visit to India, the J-Pop icons also took a tour of Mumbai’s heritage spots like the Gateway of India and Marine Drive, thus soaking in the city’s rich cultural heritage.

Formed in 2019 under Lapone Entertainment, Jo1 was named one of the Best 5 New Artists at the Japan Gold Disc Award in 2021 (for 2020). Since then, they have had three consecutive number-one albums on the Billboard Japan Hot charts as well. JO1’s 2025 World Tour ‘WHEREVER WE ARE’, their first tour of this kind, covered six countries, pulling in huge crowds across the world, thus making it immensely successful.
