Kevin Roy Correll – Dance | Representative

When you are putting on any track from the extensive Kevin Roy Correll discography, you have to be doubly sure that you are, in fact, not witnessing some of the greatest groups from the late seventies to early eighties. Correll appears onto the scene with the unmistakable panache and flamboyance to challenge even some of the most contemporary artists in their prime, coupled with instrumentals and musical soundscapes that will take you back, way back.

Kevin Roy Correll hops back on the musical train after a brief two-year hiatus following his singles Little Tramp and She’s My Baby, and now returns with three singles in 2021, namely Wouldn’t Change A Thing, Old Man and Dance. Dance opens up with a piano riff and distorted guitars, immediately taking you back to the styles of a Cream or a Led Zeppelin II. When the vocals kick in, Correll manages to transport the listener into a whirlpool of conventional rock and roll, especially with the Robert Plant-esque pipes coupled with the Keith Richards-like guitar riffs decorating the melody.

Roy Correll represents the gradual creeping in of the traditional forms of summer rock and roll into the mainstream, as he invites a whole new generation to the lost sounds of the classic genre.
