Timothy O Brings Fresh Pop Sounds to Life With “Juxtaposed”

Timothy O is a musician based in Victoria, BC, Canada. His style is pop at the core, and some songs lean country-pop because of memories of his parents playing country music. He began writing music in the early 1990s, with a couple of songs played on local Vancouver pop radio, and he performed at events and clubs. After being diagnosed with epilepsy, his confidence took a hit, and he stopped creating for a while. He returned to songwriting in 2021, kept working on pop with producer Aaron Hubley (2021–2024), then released new music in 2025–2026 with Thomas P, Steve Kroeger, and more plans ahead.

Timothy O has released a new EP, “Juxtaposed,” featuring five songs. It kicks off with “Excuse Me, My Life.” The track begins with surreal, mellifluous keys, and then melodious, amazing vocal work follows, pulling you in and refusing to let go. The song keeps getting better and better, and the emotions feel genuinely heart-touching.

The theme centers on the journey of life, resilience through hardship, gratitude, and ultimately finding peace with mortality. It’s laid out like a reflection from birth to adulthood: struggles and losses along the way, and then a final movement toward acceptance and a kind of reunion with loved ones.

“Behind the Purple Door” picks up the pace. The beats are more anthemic, creating a head-bopping aura, and the arrangement feels engaging and full of momentum. Vocally, Timothy O sounds more commanding and more energetic here, which highlights the versatility behind the performance. The theme shifts into emotional vulnerability, self-acceptance, and healing from hidden pain. It explores the experience of masking true feelings behind a carefully maintained outer image, until the narrator gradually learns to embrace authenticity. The “purple door” becomes a metaphor for the narrator’s inner world: a private emotional space filled with fears, scars, insecurities, and truths they once tried to conceal.

“No Regrets” is the EP’s high-energy moment. It’s upbeat and fast-paced, with retro-sounding musical arrangement and a carefree vibe that I enjoyed a lot. The retro flavor makes it even more irresistible, you’ll be grooving quickly. The song’s theme is self-motivation and personal growth, encouraging listeners to live without regrets. It urges people to stop procrastinating, trust themselves, and actively pursue goals before time slips away. The lyrics focus on taking control, overcoming fear and self-doubt, building confidence, and finding fulfillment through action instead of hesitation. The repeated “clock ticking” idea highlights the pressure of time and the realization that waiting too long can mean missed opportunities.

Finally, “These Streets” ends the EP on a happy, positive note. The song has a melodious, optimistic aura that feels like it brings a smile to your face right as the EP finishes.
