9 o’clock Nasty- Team Player | To the finish line

After getting over the emotional turmoil of not getting to review Darker Star, I brought myself to listen to Team Player. Here is a band I enjoy all songs of, just like Boris Johnson, I never know what to expect next. Their songs don’t search for deeper meaning or boast the higher artistic values of a terrible trio. 9 o’clock Nasty are just having a good time.

With a punchy opening, Team Player gets to what 9 o’clock Nasty does best, dive into rock. Powerful drums, an addictive bass tone that would get Les Claypool’s panties in a bunch. Sydd, Pete and Ted go all out for chorus as well, delivering a section that Frank Black would pay millions for. Also, that simple yet catchy riff is not going anywhere without taking ALL of my attention. This quick song should be an addition to all your playlists. You musn’t be surprised if its already in there.

So the question is never what 9 o’clock Nasty have in store for us next. It’s what is not, and most things aren’t off the table. Can it be about raccoons playing cards? About a tennis player/Christian madman? These guys have the Midas touch, if that means everything they touch turns to golden beer. I’m enjoying this cold tall one, that’s for sure.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
