Circus Nerves, the project of singer-songwriter and producer Hampus Svard, has released a new single, “2 Chosen Souls.” It unfolds at an unhurried pace, creating a dreamy, almost meditative atmosphere. Clear, unvarnished vocals sit over steady guitar riffs, while subtle flashes of synth add a gentle electric shimmer.
The song captures the intimacy of a connection that seems to exist apart from everyday life. Its two people meet in the quiet of the night, finding comfort in each other’s company while the rest of the world fades into the background. There’s a lovely sense of closeness and mystery in that private, after-hours world.

Still, the relationship carries a note of uncertainty. The question “Was it just for fun?” hints that the narrator isn’t sure whether this bond is something lasting or only a passing romance. They look forward to the other person’s presence and long to see them smile, hoping there may be something deeper behind the moments they share.

With its restrained arrangement and intimate vocal delivery, “2 Chosen Souls” lets that uncertainty linger. The result is a soft, reflective song about finding comfort in someone, and wondering whether the connection means as much to them as it does to you.
