Martin Reynolds – I’ll Crawl | Folksy Pop

Martin Reynolds has had quite the career so far and much more ahead of him. As the drummer for the grunge group You Dirty Blue, he made a complete switch in genres when he decided to create Pop music. With mostly acoustic tracks and a view of the larger picture, he creates music that offers solace to his listeners. While he made this switch during the pandemic, he looked for various ways to cope with a multitude of things. Even finding some peace in small unoccupied spaces in busy homes was enough. He created what would become his debut album and is now making more music.

His latest single, I’ll Crawl, is also a part of the album, Where There’s Hope. With an intense groove and hints of acoustic rock, Martin Reynolds creates an encapsulating vibe. The light percussions add these streaks of light textures to the track that make up a load of space. All the intricacies, including his vocal work, are just minimal, but in the larger picture, add so much more. Martin Reynolds has a beautiful voice that captures so much emotion and expresses it so openly. You can almost get lost in his voice alone. Moreover, his lyrical ability is unmatched for this Folk Rock vibe.

Martin Reynolds has got a load of experience and it really shows in his music. While he made the switch from grunge to Folk Pop Rock, there are still hints that will remain and it works so well.
