Galaxy Thief – Timewaster | Productivity Booster Pill

Galaxy Thief is a Swanage, Dorset-based indie pop/rock four-piece. Their influences include Nothing But Thieves, The 1975, The Band CAMINO & Angels, and Airways. They were established in early 2017. Galaxy Thief has proven themselves as an unstoppable force with a togetherness that keeps fans coming back for more. Rhys Messenger (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), George Bowerman (Lead Acoustic), Ben Watton (Drums), and Jake Trim (Bass/Vocals) are the members of this band.

Since its inception, they’ve produced their debut EP, ‘Mind Games,’ and four singles. All of these have garnered hundreds of radio plays, including BBC Introducing and BBC Solent. And also interviews on a variety of regional radio stations and television interviews.

The band’s second EP, Fires You Can’t Put Out, featured their greatest popular song till date, Better. Then it was backed by a creative experiment of multiple variations, FYCPO Alternatives. This helped them in drawing a bigger audience globally. In 2021, the band collaborated with rising star Amber T.

Galaxy Thief has come up with another song called ‘Timewaster.’ The concept of the track highlights the theme of lethargy and the consequences that might arise from losing time and options.

“Wasting your life as you’re watching us sail away, stuck in a rut, you could have been something great,” the band says. Further followed by “the clock’s ticking, the sun’s still out.” The song’s purpose is to encourage us to take action and not to give up on our dreams. The guitar part is outstanding, and it reminds us of Dire Straits’ best work.

Galaxy Thief’s new lead vocalist, Rhys Messenger, brings clarity, depth, and personality throughout Timewaster, the band’s second song with him.
