Spyderhuff-Desert Rain | Dry heat relief

No better time than now to see a passion project through. That’s precisely what Spyderhuff are doing, a two man project from Michigan-Florida. Their music is a resultant of a completely remote collaboration, between two people that love and live music. This is Desert Rain, a single from their album Tired Wrangler.

Using a clever composition of live instruments with a bit of synth, they reimagine a scenic view. An old county road, a town with just a single street uniting and dividing it. Using the malleable nature of the synth, they create a cloud of suspense that only the creator can see through. The desert blues sound makes its appearance through the dust ball, but is dominated with Spyderhuff’s hybrid tone format.

The harmonica appearance is what can be called the middle ground. It belongs to both times, but the distorted, treble rich sound of the instrument unites the chorus. Like a secret weapon kept for bringing the intense flavor the track has. In case you were wondering, which I’m sure a lot of you were, there is a great blues solo. Harmonica flourishes keep the space tight between lines. This is a thoroughly enjoyable track, setting tone for other great songs within the album.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
