The Sighs of Monsters – Bird Shot | Social Commentary
The Sighs of Monsters is a four-piece Electronic Rock band based in London. While all the members are migrants from other countries, they’re settled in London and craft great music together. The lads are inspired by the old format of albums that tell you a story from beginning to end. With this as their goal, they create music with a story to tell. Their musical ability is simply superb and is perfect for fans of the genre.
Their latest single, Bird Shot sounds like a grim, dark, review on how nothing people do is enough. It appears that The Sighs of Monsters have a lot to say. Moreover, they allude to stories like Cain & Abel that tell us stories of betrayal and jealousy. These lads remind me of Progressive Metal bands like TOOL and Dream Theatre. Their music is unconventional, but at the same time profoundly true. Bird Shot does this brilliantly by talking about larger social issues in the least conventional ways. This is something I’ve looked for since TOOL takes long hiatuses.
The Sighs of Monsters are, indeed, a band with so much to offer the music world. I highly recommend checking their music out on most streaming platforms. Moreover, there is so much to unpack in each song that you’d probably need hours after to decipher certain messages. You can probably find them live whenever they play in London.
