CAVN a music producer, songwriter, composer and artist based in London. She is classically trained and naturally drawn towards an acoustic sonic landscape with which she combines electronic music production to create her signature sound. Her debut single “Pure & Grey” featuring vocalist Stefan Kelk explores contradictions in the human experience.

The keys that appear at the start of the track have an echo that make them sound angelic. There is a constant church-bell note that runs as an undercurrent and enhances the evangelical ambience. The deep brooding voice of Stefan Kelk is layered harmoniously and stands in juxtaposition to the very grand instrumentation while the strings add a soothing touch.

This biblical landscape is broken one minute into the track when it completely shifts to the electronic exploration of similar melodies. The percussion on this section is hard hitting and plays well with energy with the bass creating a haunting atmosphere. I thought that the production on the synth made use of sonic space effectively and the choice of chopping it up added texture to the track.
It is evident that as a producer, CAVN knows how to bring multiple elements together in a manner in which they can complement one another. It is hardly believable that such meticulous production and attention to detail can be the result of a debut single. Her precision and thoughtfulness are reflected in the cover art work as well. I sincerely look forward to the direction in which CAVN chooses to take her music! You can check out her debut single here:
