Midnight Run – Running Down the Dream | Wholehearted

Midnight Run evoke their folksy roots with their debut release titled, ‘Running Down the Dream’. The band takes you back to the acoustic rock songs of the 80s/90s through engaging storytelling and hints of country-inspired melodies. In their newest feel-good track, they convey optimism and hope through their lyrical journey, sure to brighten your day!

An energetic guitar progression carries the rhythm of ‘Running Down the Dream’ for the most part. Lively drums enter along with a simple bass melody that complements the upbeat groove of the track really well. Midnight Run sure know how to make a track appealing! The vocals are soothing and have a strong tone as well – not too high up in the octaves, just the right fit for this particular track.

People always crying for / I can see forevermore / Maybe they should work it out / Maybe they should learn how to shout out loud / I’m running down the dream...”

It’s great how the singers’ voices work seamlessly well in this song – very clear tones and tight harmonies. The band leaves the listener with the message that no matter what happens, music will always be a comfort and a way to express oneself.

Inspired mostly by rock and folk music, ‘Running Down the Dream’ has a nice blend of catchy guitar-driven rhythms. In addition, the masterful mix is quite dynamic and clean, making the track all the more expressive – An excellent track to give listeners a glimpse into their sound!
