Singbabysing – An Incense Burns | Breezy

Singbabysing is a South London-based project founded in 2021 by Harry James Gibson. The songwriter made his breakthrough with the release of the first ‘Spring Brings The Blues EP.’ The single ‘Mascara Lines’ and the title song were then played by BBC Introducing South East broadcaster Abbie McCarthy. McCarthy subsequently picked SINGBABYSING for her ones-to-watch broadcast in January 2022. Harry’s songs are a bigger impact, which distinguishes them from conventional music. Elliot Smith, The National, Bombay Bicycle Club, LCD Soundsystem, Bon Iver, Bloc Party, and punk artists such as IDLES have all strongly influenced Singbabysing.

Now Singbabysing has come up with a new single ‘ An Incense Burns.’ The voice of Harry in his new song is so smooth, bright, and calming that it had a way of melting any agony and negative vibes right away. It was absolutely fascinating to hear them accompanied by a beautiful rhythm making spectacular sounds and soundscapes in the background. The music immediately set up a tone that was both experimental, and somehow unique with its own original composition, and it skipped between various tones which I didn’t mind. I adored the use of unexpected sprinkles of whispers in between, which made me feel truly enchanted by the music. Imagine the most refreshing blast of minty fresh wind flying in a car window as it’s rolled down on a hot summer day. That is how this song makes you feel. What I liked best about ‘ An Incense Burns’ is you never knew what would happen next!
