With over 20 singles out on Spotify since 2018, London based producer and singer, James Bakian is back with his fifth single of the year titled, ‘Use Me’. Known for writing about love and heartbreak, the artist also expresses his feelings on depression, anxiety and suicide through his songs.
His latest release is an upbeat deep-house track that begins with a progression of colourful extended chords along with four-on-the-floor beat, typical of EDM music. The production of the track is fairly simple with not too many elements cluttering the mix, creating a lot of space for his conversational vocals to shine through. With sultry lyrics, he explores his passionate side and talks about his desires in this song. – “When you rule over me I feel alive You just keep feeding my desire Hold on to me and let’s go take a trip Don’t you want a little oxytocin?”
Inspired by artists such as Giveon and Justin Bieber, Bakian incorporates a variety of sounds in his tracks ranging from r&b to lo-fi and hip-hop. ‘Use Me’ features familiar pop elements that make you feel like you know where the song is going as you hear it. Arpeggiated basses, subtle synthesizer melodies and smooth transitions make this an energetic and engaging track that would get the crowd on their feet in any club!
Through effortless songwriting, relatable lyrics and infectious melodies, Bakian seems to know what resonates with the audience. ‘Use Me’ is another addition to his ever-growing discography and I’m sure his fans are eager to hear more!
