Deep Talk – If I Said I Was Changing | Vivid yet Gloomy

Deep Talk’s bright electric guitars and sinuous melodies transport you to a world of bright neon lights and pounding melancholy. Jordan Maslov and Christina Li, the alt/pop duo behind Deep Talk, are both accomplished musicians who have come together to create something extraordinary. Their slow, melancholy indie rock sound is both energizing and meditative. Their lyrics are inspired by Mitski, Charlotte Bronte, and Talking Heads, among others. Whether you’re lip-synching in the dark or simply contemplating the beauty of the city at night, Deep Talk’s music will transport you to another world.

I was really impressed with Deep Talk’s most recent single, “If I Said I Was Changing.” The song starts off with rough guitar and vocals, giving the listener a hint of what’s to come. The atmosphere quickly builds as the intensity of the performance grows. The performance is captivating, with emotional vocals and thudding rhythm beats. I especially loved how the musical environment built in intensity at the end before dropping back down again, with the vocals standing out. The singer’s voice conveys a deep sense of emotion, and the vocal control is exemplary, they carry the song with feeling and power.  If I Said I Was Changing is a haunting and beautiful pop-rock song with an anthemic quality that is sure to get stuck in your head. It is a catchy and memorable song that is sure to become a staple on your playlist. It was an exhilarating ride from start to finish and one that I won’t soon forget. It is a perfect song for while driving on a road trip or working out at the gym. I can’t wait to hear more from this artist!
