Ethereal Psychedelia: Deep Dive Species’ ‘Penultimate’ Redefines Indie Sound

Ethereal Soundscapes

“Penultimate” is the latest ethereal affair from indie-rockers Deep Dive Species (DDS), from the front to back. With a track title, it could almost be the end of DDS’s research in art but smart enough to leave us in the most fabulous anticipation of more. It’s more like a penultimate chapter in continuing a musical story.

Immersive and Ethereal Production

Penultimate opens with a very immersive feel, a subservient synth line drawing the listener in before growing to something richer and more full. It is a very meticulously put-together instrumental piece, combining elements from dubstep to IDM, trip-hop to post-rock, and the other general electronica threads.

Mastering the Ethereal Vibe

As a result, a dynamic and cinematic sound was achieved, which DDS mastered for the “Penultimate” track to a result that rings through with the listener and visual media for documentaries or feature films. At once, elegant string parts mesh with purposeful, sensitive percussive arrangements to make the music feel cosmic and personal. The track goes with a meditative, journeying flow, and the feeling is one of deep, healing plunging, soothing and uplifting. The quality of production in “Penultimate” leaves an impression no different from impressing a lot. This work, authored by Vadim Militsin and Sergey Popovich, was mastered by Bill Sellar at Super Audio Mastering. The first example in a series of bright opportunities is how DDS can brightly reveal its high technical level and creative thinking.

And kept that ethereal ambiance, shimmering against the guitar soundscape that grew more into cerebral, trippy energies – a DMT-like experience. Overall, “Penultimate” from Deep Dive Species is a masterpiece within the confines of the instrumental music genre, counting only for the heavens they’ve managed to derive from it, thus eliminating the normal perimeters of indie music. The cinematic flair attached to ancestral energy makes it a listen way too compelling and worthy not to add to any film music buff’s list. It is so arresting, not only so uplifted that it takes the listener with it, as it were, on a charming roller-coaster ride into the depths of musical art.
