We’re no strangers to Proklaim here at the studio— from his debut single, to his latest, “Vamos”, Proklaim has displayed fantastic potential and growth as an artist— and that continues today. Keep reading for my thoughts!
This track is a treat to listen to. From the intro, with his energetic lyrics and enthused delivery, Proklaim manages to set the stage quite comfortably, and as he lets his flow take over, we’er swinging, headbobbing and all that goos stuff— until the beat drops; and when it does, there’s just so much more icing to the metaphorical cake that, simply said, is sublime.

Th production on “Vamos” incorporates sampling work with a lot of brass work in the background, lending a spicy twist to the delivery. Once the beat drops, the low-end is potent, groovy, and the sound design in the drop is great, with its use of bongo drums, just to name one of many. Proklaim’s flow is tight, incorporating complex multi-line eyming in is trademark half-sung, half-rapped style pioneered by the likes of Travis Scott; and Proklaim here gives it his own unique twist, and the result ends up sounding quite distinctive. The use of vocal layering to create a thick sound in the verses is also a nice touch, with the effect being that the verses sound much more meaty and present front and centre.

The mix is tight, and manages to balance everything in the mix excellently well. THe master is clinical and precise, letting Proklaim’s vocals ring out front and centre, creating quite the atmosphere, especially with the wafty reverbs on the instruments and the vocal layers; and the breakdown at the end of the song as Proklaim signs the song off, is quite the way to end this power-packed single.
All in all, “Vamos” by Proklaim: a banger single this week from the Proklaim kitchen that may have been cooked by Ramsay himself; and will it catch your ear this week? Beyond a doubt. Check it out here:
