The whole song has this delightful 60s-70s folk/country vibe to it, apparent from the opening notes of the song– and it permeates your ears and mind, you immediately find yourself grooving and jiving to the music as it takes you on a journey through positivity reflected in the songwriting, as well as the jolly good rhythms of the guitars in the background. There is a lot of layers here that gently unfold one after the other, creating quite an endearing listening experience.

The vocals and vocal layers (many throughout the song) deserve special attention here, as they create another dimension for the listener to enjoy and thoroughly take in, as I found myself enjoying the vocal performance– and as I alluded to earlier, the songwriting and lyrics are another standout point. This all works beautifully with the clean strummed electric guitars and the brass. This is all wrapped up rather nicely by a great solo, with its blues and jazz-inspired sound and writing, adding another pinch of finesse to “Train Wreck Coming”.
The production of this song finds itself to be quite layered, with instruments like the clean electric guitars, as well as the brass elements and the drumming, that finds itself tight and well-timed throughout the song, in conjunction with the low-end, the song finds itself rather well kept-together through the song, creating the perfect rhythmic base for the song. The mix and master only make this better, with great imaging and use of the stereo field, distributing instruments and energy rather well in the mix, making “Train Wreck Coming” quite a nice piece to listen to, even with my technical-listening-hat on.
