Urban Walrus has released their new single, “Not Today,” and it’s a fine wine-like alternative rock song. The band, which was founded in 2022 in Zurich, Switzerland, is led by Fabian Korber, aptly titled a rock poet.
After a six-month world tour around New York, Amsterdam, and Zurich, Urban Walrus seems to have found some inspiration for this track. “Not Today” is a mid-tempo rock song with a post-grunge feel, featuring some great guitar work.

The song talks about the feeling of waking up and knowing it’s not going to be your day, yet deciding to move on. The production by Jeannot Steck is solid, making it a straightforward rock track by Urban Walrus. No frills, in-your-face modern alternative rock, the kinda music I enjoy. The songwriting ensures that your attention is kept through the song.
While “Not Today” is a solid, well-produced song that fans of the genre will appreciate. Fabian Korber’s vocals and the instrumentation are competent and deliver the message of the song effectively. If you’re into post-grunge and alternative rock, “Not Today” is worth a listen.
