The Chase is a Nottingham-based, four-piece, Brit-Pop band with a very unique sound. They describe their music as killer 60s choruses and arena-sized rock and roll. Starting the band from the young ages of 8, 10 and 11, The Chase consisted of Tyler Heaney (Lead Guitar and Vocals), Dion Heaney (Drums)and Luke Childs (Bass). The band found their fourth piece in James Cahill (Keys).
Set The World To Rights is the quartet’s latest release. The track is a rather mellow song that is very reminiscent of the classic Brit-Pop sound. As a huge Oasis fan, I must say that this track could easily fit in that repertoire. Set The World To Rights has really interesting elements. The drums are so tight with brilliant grooves. The bass, accompanying the drums in keeping the rhythm is such a fantastic element creating much depth. However, the keys and vocals really do it for me. The keys are so dynamic throughout the track, creating spaces and filling them simultaneously as they accompany Heaney’s magnificent vocals. With a voice with a bit of grit and baritone vocal register, Tyler Heaney does such a brilliant job with his vocals on this track. The backing vocals in the chorus sound so angelic with those beautiful harmonies.
The Chase is such a tight band that has so much to offer. The music will really draw you in in classic Brit-Pop fashion and take you through some intense journey. However, this band seems to do it so flawlessly that you would probably become a fan instantly.
