Kiolo – Sunshine | Bright

Kiolo is an indie pop duo from Morgantown, WV consisting of John Kolar and Andrew Jemiolo (Jemz). John and Jemz became friends in college at West Virginia University where John studied electrical engineering and Jemz studied physics. With a rich technical background, you can be assured their production will be immaculately compiled.

‘Sunshine’ is a breath of fresh air on a gloomy day. It’s a short bedroom pop bop that incorporates a zesty guitar solo alongside a spacious production. With a slightly nasal vocal performance, the group sings “Oo let your sunshine through Turn my gray skies blue“. It’s infectiously positive.

Cause I got water flowing to my knees”. To call this groovy would be an understatement. Kiolo’s magic comes from the ability to take otherwise mundane lyrical concepts into an enthrallingly enjoyable project. ‘Sunshine’ is simple, short, and sweet. But underneath the pleasantness it brings to your ears lies deeply thought out production that allows the group to craft such an ear catching piece. It’s mellow, addictive, groovy, and warm.

Bedroom pop has really blown up over the past few months and with each new addition to the genre, you can see the reason why. It has a universal appeal to it — one that’s able to guarantee a smile on your face as you get ready to go through your day. Early morning vibes never felt so good.

The second single from the Morgantown indie pop group, ‘sunshine’ is also scheduled to be accompanied by a music video in the coming weeks. Till then, stream this early morning, positive vibe bearing track on Spotify now!
