The DePatie Melt-The Viking Princess & The Troll King | Blues supreme

John DePatie has had quite the musical adventure. He’s had jazz versions of The Beach Boys’ tracks, U2 covers and is definitely a tone connoisseur. I say this looping his covers all day, just trying to figure out how he’s getting the guitar to sound like that. The DePatie Melt is his secret, and this is his new single. It’s called The Viking Princess & The Troll King.

Now for an instrumental track, you didn’t need a name like that. Cool Blues or something would do. However, The DePatie Melt is all about telling a tale with just the notes. For someone who can guide them like John DePatie, it is an entertaining tale of lore. The melancholy vibe creates the tension of a unison that wasn’t meant to happen. I could spin my web here, but just listen to how the guitar wails at his command.

Just like a lyrical track, the guitar changes tone where the verse or the bridge would be. There is a powerful overlord, the blues, that inspire this track and make it this good. A simple beat in the background and solid bass allow the guitar to really shine, with quite a bit of character. Reminds me of when Gary Moore used to touch a guitar and you’d know that sweet bend would make your day. The DePatie Melt sure did make mine.

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
