$alary Bump is a track that goes hard. It’s one of the few rap singles that I find myself bobbing my head to. Ty Thom creates a brilliant soundscape that reminds me of classic, old school rap. Ty Thom and Tre Romell have paired up to create something that belongs in the same conversation as Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa, and Dr Dre and Eminem. His production work, done by Yarou is absolutely divine. I love the trumpet sample that plays on the left while the ad-libs play on the right give the track a magnificent amount of spacing. Ty Thom hits the bars with some insane double entendres.
I absolutely dig $alary Bump. It’s a track that probably deserves more recognition than it has right now. If I was you, I’d be jumping on the bandwagon right now. His last album F.U.N reminds me of some good old J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. However, it’s more important to Ty Thom to stand on his own, so just stream his music and enjoy it!
