Charlie Cartel is a versatile R&B artist from Teaneck, New Jersey. He was born into music with both his parents showing musical talent. His father is a platinum recording producer who produced for the likes of Tyrese Gibson and Nick Cannon to name a few. Charlie states that he uses his music as an extension of himself to express himself. He has worked from the age of 7 to develop the sound that he crafts carefully to this day. His music is raw, authentic, and features electronic elements to add contrast.
His latest single, Dreamin, features a great mix of light and dark textures. The streaks in melodic elements add some cool textures while the percussive beats add great depth to the track. Moreover, Charlie Cartel has a smooth voice that grabs hold of your attention. His instrumental track and voice work so brilliantly together. Dreamin is somewhat different from other tracks like Mamacita which have a different vibe going for it. Additionally, it feels like Charlie Cartel has achieved a different level in his music with this track.
Cartel is quite honestly one of the most versatile musicians I’ve heard of and that includes King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. With so many varying styles and all of them hitting the mark, Charlie Cartel is a brilliant artist to look out for.
