TONYC – Trauma | Psy-Trance Treat

Jake Benner, aka TONYC, is a German musician and DJ who has been making waves in the electronic music scene since 2012. With a vast array of influences, from Skrillex to Disclosure, TONYC’s music is hard to pin down to one genre. However, what all of his tunes have in common is a heavy bassline that is sure to get your head nodding.

As his fame continues to grow, TONYC is definitely one artist to keep an eye on. With his willingness to experiment with different sounds, there’s no telling what he’ll come up with next. There’s no doubt that Jake Benner is a gifted musician with a bright future ahead of him.

TONYC has come up with a new single, “Trauma.” The song is a treat! Psytrance music is known for its pulsing, powerful beats. But “Trauma” ups the ante with an emotionally charged soundscape that is guaranteed to take listeners on a wild ride. The song starts with a male voice talking about mental health disorders and with a gentle piano melody but quickly kicks into high gear with an unrelenting rhythm. The way the song transforms into a trance vibe just blew me away! Throughout the song, a variety of synths and samples are introduced, each expertly placed to keep the listener engaged. But it’s the song’s ever-changing arrangement that really makes it stand out. Just when you think you’ve got a handle on the song, it suddenly changes direction, keeping you on your toes until the very end. I found myself eagerly waiting for the beat drop, which just hit the spot for me. It’s exciting to see artists pushing the envelope and tackling tough subjects in such a creative way. This smasher is a perfect example of how art can be used to heal and empower those who have experienced trauma. The song is sure to leave a lasting impression.
