MARCUS KECH – Strangelove | Enticing Soundscapes

In his new album, “Strangelove” MARCUS KECH returns with a more experimental sound. The soundscapes are multi-layered and intense. The music production is fantastic, with layers of melody lines and counter parts skill-fully combined. The album’s sound is influenced by a variety of genres from across the world and presented in a new fresh style. The unique aspects in the song’s arrangement will undoubtedly attract a lot of attention from the listeners.

Marcus Kech is an enthralling Melbourne-based producer, performer, and singer-songwriter. Marcus finds influence for both the music he makes and the music he performs from the sounds of disco, funk, house, electronica, and rock. Marcus’ music is greatly influenced and inspired by Tame Impala, Daft Punk, George Michael, and Michael Jackson, to name a few. Marcus has spent the last 10 years honing his abilities to play numerous instruments, including the guitar, piano, and drums, which has improved the sound of his distinctive style of producing. Marcus’ passion for music drove him to teach himself how to make music in his bedroom five years ago.

The album opens with a cello intro that makes a strong first impression and grabs the listener’s attention before “The Place” strikes the first chord. The percussion and bass give the song just the right amount of oomph. As the music proceeds, the foot begins to sway. The enthusiasm is heightened by the funky guitar licks. The performance maintains a steady level of energy. The synth pluck bass towards the end adds intrigue to the soundscape. “So There’s This Girl” starts with a disco texture, and the groove pattern instantly transports us to the Nu Disco sound. It’s thrilling to hear such a strong vocal delivery. The energetic environment just adds to the fun. The excitement level rises dramatically with the next tune, “Disco’d“. The mood just jumps every time the kick strikes, thanks to the deep fat bassline and groovy guitar strumming. With the addition of modest syncopated percussion rhythms, the outro sounds even more lively and fascinating.

With the tune “As The Record Crackles“, the arpeggios synth only gets better. In terms of sound design and production, the songs have undoubtedly advanced greatly. The songs are kept on the edge of their seats by the tight beat. With extremely passing rhythms, the psychedelic patterns just take you up. The structures may appear repetitious, yet this serves the record effectively. With “Pinot Noir,” the LFO game attracts notice. The sound design is dark and deep, and it works well to put you in the atmosphere. The song’s smooth flow is quite appealing. The next tune, “T.V. & the Geisha,” is intriguing, with a lively and funky guitar strumming that I especially loved. The drum pattern is quite well-programmed, and it perfectly complements the tune. The filter automation gives the music some dynamic movement. This song’s crescendo is quite effective, and the vocal in that portion is extremely well-crafted. The delivery is excellent. It energises you and heightens the strain.

I Don’t Want,” the next genuine disco music, simply makes you want to dance. The rap segment is quite exciting. The lyrics just flow so easily, and the vocal processing, in especially, evolves and supports the section so effectively. The bottom end is solidly tight, and the guitar strokes add to the thrill. “In The Picture” was the first song that struck a chord with me. It simply grew alongside me. There were some rhythmic elements there that I liked. It sounds extremely well integrated with the music and, in particular, wonderfully complemented the vocal melody line. You can’t help but sing along when the chorus is repeated following the verses ahead. It’s such a happy tune, with some highly unique sonic design, that it completely immerses the listener. “Devil” is a tune that focuses on sound design. It swirls and progresses around a speech that sounds enthralling.

The album comes to a close with the lively and thrilling single “Start Again,” which incorporates afro beats into the disco feel of the music. The tune has a lot of energy, and the funky baseline adds to the groove’s appeal. The entire album is amazing in terms of sound design, which is mixed and bonded in such a way that we’ll be drawn into the song’s structure. The outstanding work that is being done in the production. I had a lot of fun listening to the album. Throughout, the enthusiasm was constant.
