Love Ghost have been turning it up for the past two years. In the short time they have been active on Spotify, they’ve amassed a group of loyal listeners. This is owing to their spectacular singles, each like a gripping chapter in your favorite crime novel. Their latest single is Цепи, which translates to Chains in English. At least that’s what Google Translate tells me.
From Wolfsbane to Tell Me When, I’ve had the chance to review a lot of Love Ghost’s music. Their tracks are an unpredictable blend of an ADD psychopaths thoughts, and I mean that in the best way possible.2 and 2 cannot equal four with them, they make sure they’re adding something new every time. Цепи is no different, they create a nu-metal effect like Limp Bizkit, then make it 10 times heavier. No Dad rock for these guys just yet.
Featuring Vollny, the Russian lyrics are beyond me but make for an interesting listen. They create the mystery and aura that comes from the shrouded beauty that is the Russian language. Choosing to do this, Love Ghost has made an approach to a sound that is unique from their earlier tracks. This thumbprint effect allows for a great shuffle in genre and sound, something all artists should aspire to create. Цепи is one bookmark in this slew of experimentation that Love Ghost chase.
