Fun, upbeat house music galore, on “Breathing” by Lukx

Belgium and Sweden have a reputation for producing the best electronic dance music there is– and the Belgium-based producer Lukx– with his producer-and-dad-counterpart, quite literally called “Dad”, is out to leave an impression on the EDM scene; making tracks every first Friday of the month. The latest track from the house (if you may excuse the pun) is called “Breathing”– keep reading for my thoughts!

The whole track has this club-friendly production with the intro reminding me a lot of “Ferrari” by James Hype (a compliment to the layering of the production, by the way), with funky synths and effects going on all across the sound stage. The song assumes a chill, catchy vibe that I quite enjoyed listening to when I was writing this review.

The vocals deserve special mention here, for their great gelling with the rest of the song– in fact, the song is carried forward rather nicely with the vocals being front and present, adding yet another layer of ear candy for me to chew on (metaphorically, of course). The arpeggiated synths in the background make for great variety in the production, with the instrumentation coming off as fun, venturing, and overall, very enjoyable.

With “Breathing”, the father-and-son-duo are really, really on to a great sound that you would hear reverberating across the floor of a dance club late at night. Check out “Breathing” by Lukx here!
