‘Fate’ by LTB is a Soulful RnB Track that Contemplates the Allure of Temptation Along a Predestined Path

Fate’ by LTB is a soulful RnB track that contemplates temptation and straying from a path the narrator has worked hard to stay on. Its instrumentation plays with sound and silence. This making sure the song’s lyrics come centre stage to set the track’s mood and tone.

The song’s intro acts as a transition point between two beats of the larger story in the telling. Its staged as an intervention of sorts. This attempting to make sure that the listener in this case is reminded of the weight of their responsibility.

“…There’s a dissonance that needs to be addressed,

And that dissident needs to be erased…”.

‘Fate’: Predestination in the Face of Temptation

‘Fate’ feels like its telling this large epic, filed with moral and grandiose movement. The song’s use of piano, especially in the intro, helps the track feel this. This while at its core, the song is a soulful reminisce. This that captures the dissonance between a pre-destined or rather hard-won path and the snaking path of alluring temptation.

There’s this sense of foreboding and warning within the lines. Almost as though the whole track is means to foreshadow where a path driven by impulse could lead. The song’s refrain heeds a strong warning for the same.

“…Don’t mess with your fate, don’t change what’s meant to be,…

Don’t make that fatal mistake…”.

‘Fate’ feels like a warning from some distant, unknown future that has clearly had consequences. The song attempts to flirt with temptation, almost giving into it just to illustrate what its allure can do. There’s a sense of responsibility that’s pit against a sense of impulse and attraction.

It’s almost as though the song sits at the crux of a body of work’s larger narrative.

‘Fate’ by LTB holds in its soulful soundscape a harsh warning, blinking through the song’s echo with a a heavy sense of responsibility. Its words hold in them a gravitas that pulls the listener in, much like the allure of temptation.
