With ‘Demand Perfection’, ReeToxA bursts into the flamboyant indie rock scene of this century. A highly contagious pulse that’ll turn any room into a dance floor. Although after listening once, one might wonder, “Why would Jason McKee write such a male ego-heavy song?” Especially since we know that ReeToxA is a brainchild of McKee’s brilliance in crafting immersive & experiential songs. And this is where the experiance, hard work, and magic of an indie-rock musician who has been playing for over 3 decades show. ‘Demand Perfection’ is a flawlessly strung, both lyrically & production-wise, first-person version of a superficial man. A song that was born when Jason overheard another man in his gym drawing parallels between material conquest and finding romantic relationships.

The song enters with a squealie, dives into a groovy pulse, and hooks us with catchy guitar riffs. McKee’s vocals tether us to a perfectly produced track that ‘Demand Perfection’ is. With a fantastic team, who are some of Australia’s best musicians: Peter Marin on drums, James Ryan on guitar, and Kit Riley on bass, this song is a wild ride.
“Wish you had a twin sister so badly, huh, cuz I f*cked up with you! Won’t you take me back? I wanna spoil & make it up to you! Got money, I demand Perfection!” The lyrics have an anarchic, impulsive energy, and Simon Moro rightly mixes Jason’s voice, making it sound mechanically moronic. The song is a crafty and intelligent representation of today’s protein-shake-drinking muscle man whose emotional prowess is factually limited.
