Fallen Letters-Remain a Memory
Fallen Letters-Remain a Memory

Fallen Letters flourish in flavour with their debut prog metal single, “Remain a Memory”

Fallen Letters bring a zing to the ever-evolving texture of prog-rock. Inspired by brilliant bands like Katatonia, Opeth and the genius of Steven Wilson-they have a wide-ranging taste palette that they want to display. This is their debut single, a refracting gem of a song called Remain a Memory.

The soulful string picking in the opening draws you towards the curtain. However, the real show remains woven within the thread. Vishal Naidu lures with vocals that seem distant-a secret to be spoken and observed. Aditya Ramesh concocts some brilliant tones with the clean guitar-that echoes around in the verse section. You can feel the tantalizing shuffle for the chorus, and it is as explosive as you’d expect. There is more than a drop-it is a nuclear display of tones and styles they love and have detailed so well. Fallen Letters surprise you with another brilliant section-screams in a soft instrumental weave. These are the places where goosebumps galore.

I usually pay close attention to guitar solos in melodic/prog rock. Ramesh manages to tell a story that rings like a spin-off-making dense calculations while being incredibly precise. It isn’t flashy-to the point and tasteful, the song very easily-remains in your memory.

For an opening single, this is an incredible bouquet of sound from Fallen Letters. Naidu and Ramesh have brought similar tastes in an astounding style, a blessing for the metal scene in Bangalore. For now, you can binge on this song. Their album is to come soon, and you can brace for it to be a cocktail of many emotions. Listen to the single here and follow them for more!
