“Can U Feel It”, by JustDyllan: High-energy techno, for those late-night raves

Dylan Baty, known better by his online alias “JustDyllan”, is a producer and DJ based out of Scotland in the United Kingdom, bringing a wide variety of influences together into a primarily techno/trance sound that is sure to keep one vibing through intense work sessions, late night jams or raves. On his latest track, “Can U Feel It”, he does just that– keep reading for my thoughts!

I have been a fan of trance and techno music for as long as I’ve been a producer and sound engineer. From all those tracks on “A State of Trance by Armin van Buuren, to growing up through the bigroom house era, “Can You Feel It” took me down a nostalgia trip, reminding me at every bar why I fell in love with the genre in the first place.

The track consistently keeps up a high, ferocious energy, something I have come to look for in well-produced electronic music, and “Can U Feel It” does not disappoint in this department. The energy of the song kicks you hard right from the very first bar, with its quick and intense buildups, and the vocal-heavy production style of the track. The sound choice and design also stands out, with the kick and the snare, quite in particular, standing out as complimenting each other quite well throughout the track.

The vocal chops also do all to contribute to the energy of the track, remaining in perfect harmony with the dirty, gritty bassline, while the drops alternate from anywhere between hardstyle house to deep, underground techno. It is a multitude of styles coming together to form what is Dylan’s unique sound, and that is something I appreciate in an artist– the originality in sound; and Dylan accomplishes that quite efficiently here.

In wrapping, I think that “Can U Feel It” makes for the perfect kind of track you would be listening to during long, late-night coding sessions, and raves in your room with either yourself or fellow techno-heads. Check out “Can U Feel It” here:
