9 o’clock Nasty bring rock swings with their hot new single, “Mood is Low”

9 o’clock Nasty are a vaguely shaped Christmas cracker by this point. You cross your fingers, listening to their songs, hoping it’s what you want to hear. If not, it’s still a gift you barely deserve. Now they get back to us with their latest single, and they’re changing vehicles again. Thank god, the gears are the same. This one is called Mood is Low.

Mood is low, is it though?

No, The Hives didn’t supervise production for this. That incredibly sticky riff that makes you swing your head like the votes in Congress is dope. I don’t use that word often or ever, but I just did. Bringing a swing to the song, this is a dance track disguised as a rock one. If you’re a stickler for genres, let go fool. That isn’t an insult, I’m referencing the song. The three-piece band make a contrast worth mentioning for a song that is titled “Mood is Low”. The lyrics and instrumentals contrast like a cyclist in a neon unitard in London during the rains. It slaps, it sticks, and it takes you back. 9 o’clock Nasty is the same band that just did The Worms with I Am the Unicorn Head and released The Gastronaut.

If you’ve finished reeling from the adrenaline rush, go ahead. Add it to your playlists. Tell your friends. Worship it as a spiritual entity, I’m sure it’s worth it. This trio will continue their horsing around in the lab till we find another mutant species of a song. And you will enjoy it, because there is no reason not to. Listen to 9 o’clock Nasty here:

Self professed metalhead, moderately well read. If the music has soul, it's whole to me. The fact that my bio could have ended on a rhyme and doesn't should tell you a lot about my personality.
